Swimming Together

People swimming together in the blue sea - a modern, semi-abstract, cheerful painting that many of us have in mind when we think of summer and holidays.
Or also an allegory for life: Everyone is looking for their own way in the waves, but basically we are all more similar than we would like to admit and are moved in all directions by the same forces. We enjoy it and at the same time, immobility would mean doom.

Des gens nageant ensemble dans la mer bleue : une peinture moderne, semi-abstraite et joyeuse qui évoque pour beaucoup d'entre nous l'été et les vacances. Ou encore une allégorie de la vie : chacun cherche sa propre voie au milieu des vagues, mais au fond, nous nous ressemblons tous plus que nous ne voulons bien l'admettre et sommes ballottés dans toutes les directions par les mêmes forces. Nous y prenons plaisir et, en même temps, l'immobilité signifierait la perdition.

Hamburg

Hamburg, the city where Kathrin Flöge lived for 30 years and which has become a second home to her. She loves the harbour because there is always something going on there: arrivals, departures, greetings and farewells. These are, after all, essential parts of our lives and, therefore, of her art as well.

Kathrin Flöge has realised her dream of living by the sea by moving to Port-Vendres: time and again, the sea and the beach inspire her to try out new things on canvas.
